Everyone knows what Mercedes-Benz is and what it stands for. That three-pointed star has left a legacy in three consecutive centuries and blesses every car it adorns with undeniable presence. However, being present is no longer enough for the current management. Their new resolves: to make their cars evoke emotion, to stop people from equating Benz with boredom, and, just maybe, to add a dash of Italian to all that all-German recipe. Can't argue with the turnout so far. That wild-eyed E-class of ten years ago sure stirred up reactions; so did bolting a supercharger into every car that had enough underhood space. For its latest move, Mercedes is going for gorgeous (watch out, Jaguar!) and their method seems to have involved re-creating the oldest staple in automobiledom, the sedan. Wow, just look at it. Have you ever seen a roofline so raked, a tail so tapered, a Benz so bold? So proud are they of the result that they don't even call it a sedan, but rather "the world's first four-door coupe." Giving a coupe four doors? Can they do that?
